The EdgePower team includes individuals with experience in energy management and controls, building energy efficiency, and solar energy.
Nathan Glasgow is CEO at EdgePower. Prior to co-founding EdgePower, Nate was Director of Energy Services at SunEdison, responsible for energy efficiency and energy monitoring/management and has developed sub-metering, tariff analysis, and load shifting technologies with new and existing commercial solar customers. Prior to joining SunEdison, Nate was a Principal at Rocky Mountain Institute where he was an initiative leader and coauthor of the books Reinventing Fire and Winning the Oil Endgame. Nate has worked in venture capital and green construction, and started an educational software company after college. Nate holds an AB in Human Biology from Stanford University, a MA in Economics from the University of California Santa Barbara, and a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Karl Swanson is Chief Operating Officer at EdgePower. Karl has over 25 years experience in building automation controls. Prior to co-founding EdgePower Karl was Director of the SunEdison Energy and Environmental Data Systems team and was responsible for design, manufacturing and deployment. Prior to joining SunEdison, he was COO at EnFlex Corp where he was responsible for operations and enterprise energy management product development. He has been responsible for design and installation of building management controls/Energy Services deployment to major retail customers for over 15 years. Starting his career, Karl spent 12 years with the Navy designing and deploying DDC systems at Naval Facilities. Karl holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Washington State University and earned the California Professional Engineer certification.
Mike Ogburn is Director of Operations at EdgePower. Prior to joining EdgePower, Mike worked at Clean Energy Economy for the Region (CLEER) where he created Building Energy Navigator, a web-based energy monitoring tool with features including bill tracking, solar PV metering, demand-limiting and public kiosks. Mike deployed this tool into over 100 sites, training occupants to save energy through Active Energy Management. Prior to joining CLEER, Mike was a Senior Consultant with Rocky Mountain Institute, where he led “Transformational Trucking” efficiency initiatives and projects for clients including a Fortune 10 automaker. Mike also held product engineering positions at Ford Motor Company, Ballard Power Systems, GE Aircraft Engines, and Cummins. Mike holds a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Shawn Henry Adams
Shawn Henry Adams is Lead Software Developer at EdgePower. Shawn has a strong passion for software that makes the world a better place. Shawn is responsible for leading development of enterprise application features and recently architected the update of EdgePower’s EnFlex energy management user interface. Before working for EdgePower he was the lead developer and system administrator for a nutritional tracking platform for a youth audience. Before that he worked for an educational games company, which he started out of college. Shawn and his team designed and implemented games and simulations for multiple clients, including Union Pacific Railroad. Shawn has a BS in Computer Science from Michigan State University.
Ted Belanger is Director of Product at EdgePower. He is responsible for helping to grow the business by identifying market opportunities, creating development strategies, and executing on new lines of business. Prior to joining EdgePower, Ted worked as a Product Manager at SunEdison where he was responsible for the global implementation of the Operations software platform within the Global Asset Management business. The Operations platform was used by +300 users in 12 countries and managed more that 15 million work orders. He also managed integration efforts for acquisitions across functional and technical work streams. Before that, he was responsible for Commercial Operations activities including contract pricing and negotiations, financial modeling, and cost reduction initiatives. Ted holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
Henry Cross is a Field Applications Engineer at EdgePower. Henry has strong background in field work and troubleshooting and is equipped with the tools to complete complex control system installations. Prior to joining EdgePower Henry performed electro-mechanical service for a national food and beverage company. Henry is also skilled in software, including development and testing of Linux and web applications. Henry has a BS in Chemistry from University of Idaho with a minor in Computer Science.
Steve Beaulieu is a Controls Technician for EdgePower. Steve taught high school math and science for 10 years before returning to school for mechanical engineering. He worked as an energy management consultant for large municipal buildings before joining the EdgePower team. Steve holds a BS in Physics and Chemistry from Univ. of New Hampshire, a MS in Science Education from Univ. of New Haven, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Univ. of Colorado Boulder.
Skyler Ogden is a Controls Technician at EdgePower. Skyler has a passion for integrated systems, networks and mechanical design. Prior to joining EdgePower, Skyler designed and built his first 3D printer and used to produce many commercial products currently on the market. In 2015, Skyler helped build a web based energy monitoring tool for displaying energy consumption data for commercial building and schools. During engineering school, Skyler was a lead design engineer for Team Mojavaton Robotics which competed in the 2014 DARPA Robotics Challenge. Skyler holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Colorado University and Colorado Mesa University.
